Division Information The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary Quality Technician I is an essential position to assure quality system and product standards for all material manufactured within the facility. Responsible for providing quality oversight to assigned areas of manufacturing to ensure all products are processed in accordance with site, company, regulatory and legal standards. The Quality Technician I will be responsible for assessing, investigating, and effectively resolving manufacturing issues in conjunction with a cross-functional team in accordance with standard operating procedures. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of raw or finished goods to determine compliance with appropriate documents (work order, work instructions, SPX/SAP requirements, drawings, visual standards., line release forms, etc) Conduct visual and dimensional checks, using measuring tools, on incoming materials, production parts, and final products Generate accurate records of inspections, prepare basic reports, and update quality logs on paper, in Microsoft Office and in ERP system Maintain quality standards to ensure that manufactured finished goods conform to specific parameters that define product quality Perform routine checks and calibrations on measurement and test equipment Verify the collection of required product samples based on production schedules Document and investigate safety and quality issues as directed Report on product safety and quality issues to QA and Operations Leaders Monitor and verify hold product for correct rework completion Problem solve in support of non-conforming product disposition Incoming material inspections to ensure specifications are met and addressing identified issues Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Profile High School Diploma or GED required 1 year of experience in quality control and assurance in a manufacturing facility strongly preferred SAP/S4 (Other ERP system) experience is preferred Required Skills Must be a team player with a positive attitude Must be able to interact with all levels of people within the organization and at suppliers or customers Must be able to multi-task and maintain priority levels as needed Strong communication skills are required - written and verbal Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail and visual acuity Ability to read and interpret technical documentation. Ability to accommodate flexibility in the work schedule Work Environment Exposure to hot and cold warehouse climate Frequent exposure to motorized warehouse equipment Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and stooping Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds
