Role Description The School Counselor provides academic, post-secondary, and social-emotional counseling services to students in grades 9 12 and serves as a key member of the Student Services team. Responsibilities include monitoring academic progress, supporting course selection and graduation planning, providing post-secondary counseling, and collaborating with staff and families to address student needs. Counselors serve as generalists supporting a caseload of students across grades 9 12. Additional responsibilities include delivering components of the school counseling curriculum, supporting district and building initiatives, participating in multidisciplinary problem solving teams, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Qualifications Master's degree in School Counseling Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counselor endorsement Experience providing academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to adolescents Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications High school counseling experience, preferably in a comprehensive public high school setting Experience with college admissions counseling and post-secondary planning Experience supporting Section 504 Plans Timeline Interested candidates should submit a completed application by March 1, 2026, for review.
