CNC Machinist

Job Description CNC Machinist We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with strong setup and operating and set-up experience. This role supports high-speed milling of aluminum components to close tolerances in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven to maximize machine utilization while maintaining quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Perform full CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting on vertical machining centers. Optimize cycle times and maintain maximum spindle uptime. Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings to produce precision machined components. Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators) to verify tolerances. Identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions and machine malfunctions. Manage tooling, offsets, tool life, and fixture adjustments to support continuous improvement. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, programmers, and quality personnel to resolve machining issues and minimize downtime. Support new job setups, engineering changes, and production deadlines. Maintain accurate documentation, setup sheets, inspection records, and change logs. Train CNC loaders and team members on updated processes and best practices. Promote a safe, organized, and productive manufacturing environment. Qualifications 2+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC machining centers in a manufacturing environment. Technical degree in CNC Precision Machining or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. Proven experience with Fryer, Makino, and Fadal machines. Strong understanding of high-speed aluminum milling, cutting tools, tool holders, boring bars, and fixturing. Proficiency reading complex prints, including geometric tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to perform shop math (geometry, algebra, trigonometry) for offsets and material calculations. Please submit a resume for consideration.
