JOB SUMMARY Serves as Residency Monitor Analyst and Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for Saint Elizabeths Hospital (SEH). Provides oversight of psychiatry residency training educational activities and monitors activities to ensure that they are in full compliance with ACGME. Provides leadership to enable SEH to achieve substantial compliance with the institutional requirements and to enable its ACGME-accredited programs to maintain compliance with program requirements. Leads an organized administrative system, which includes a Graduate Medical Education committee (GMEC) to oversee Psychiatric Residency Training Program and Forensic Fellowship. Serves a SEH Graduate Medical Education (GME) representative with DC Board of Medicine. Prepares an annual report to medical staff and governing body reviewing the prior year's Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) activities and the safety and quality of patient care provided by the residents. Qualification Requirements Candidates must have completed a full four (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree with major study in an academic field relating to the health sciences or allied science pertinent to the position. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, this position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled. Licensures, Certifications and other requirements None Work Experience Thorough knowledge of ACGME requirements in psychiatry residency and forensic fellowship educational activities. Position Designation: This position is deemed as Security-Sensitive pursuant to Section 410 of Chapter 4 of the D.C. Personnel Regulations, in addition to the general suitability screening, individuals applying for or occupying safety sensitive positions are subject to the following checks and tests: Criminal background check; Traffic record check (as applicable); Consumer credit check (as applicable); Reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test; Post-accident or incident drug and alcohol test; Random drug and alcohol test; and Return-to-duty or follow-up drug and alcohol test. RESIDENCY PREFERENCE A person applying for a position in the Career Service, Educational Service, Management Supervisory Service, a line attorney position in the Legal Service (series 905), or an attorney position in the Excepted Service (series 905) who is a bona fide District resident AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION for the position may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points. If selected, the person shall be required to present proof of bona fide District residency and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment.
