Physician Assistant - Surgical First Assistant (General Surgery) (Full Time) Department: Surgery Location: 1326 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA SouthCoast Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant Surgical First Assistant to join our General Surgery team. This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by providing support to our surgeons in a hospital setting. Key Responsibilities Provide first-assist support in laparoscopic, robotic, and open surgical procedures. Aid surgeons in initiating and completing surgical cases. Document all patient encounters and care accurately in the medical record. Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including CPR administration. Maintain communication and collaboration with physicians, nursing, and ancillary teams. Uphold patient confidentiality and professional standards in all clinical activities. Support other clinical duties as assigned by supervising physicians. Qualifications Graduate of an AMA-accredited Physician Assistant program (BA/BS and Masters required). Current Georgia PA license and NCCPA certification. Current BLS and ACLS certification. Minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a hospital OR setting. Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
