As a Mechanical Engineer focusing on critical environments, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of advanced mechanical systems that support data centers and specialized facilities. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience with a variety of sophisticated mechanical equipment. Your Responsibilities Include: Perform routine inspections of mechanical systems including HVAC, chillers, and cooling systems to verify optimal performance. Monitor critical parameters such as temperatures, pressures, and flow rates, informing senior staff of any irregularities. Execute basic preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical systems according to established protocols and safety guidelines. Assist in routine maintenance tasks, such as filter changes and component servicing, under the guidance of senior engineers. Support operations of chilled water systems, air handling units, and cooling towers while acquiring knowledge of thermal management in data center settings. Engage in troubleshooting activities with guidance, developing skills in diagnostic procedures. Adhere to safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures while managing mechanical work orders through CMMS systems. Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance activities and system performance metrics. Qualifications We are Looking For: 2-4 years of experience with building mechanical systems, particularly in HVAC or plumbing disciplines. Experience within data centers or critical facilities is highly preferred. A solid understanding of mechanical fundamentals, including HVAC principles and basic troubleshooting abilities. Universal EPA 608 Certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment. Commitment to professional development and effective teamwork. Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation and collaboration. Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office and CMMS. Ability to lift 50-80 pounds and work with mechanical equipment in varied conditions. Flexibility to respond to emergency calls and work non-traditional hours as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in mechanical technology or HVAC engineering technology is a plus. Completion of a trades school or apprenticeship program in relevant mechanical skills. Basic knowledge of CRAC/CRAH operations, particularly with Liebert equipment. Familiarity with building automation systems and integrated facility management technologies. Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems for documentation. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder interactions.
