The goal of our Platform Product Group engineers is to create a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform that operates with speed, efficiency, and quality. Our teams are responsible for critical infrastructure essential to Coinbase’s operations. This group includes teams focused on Product Foundations (Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), as well as Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure. The Coinbase Travel Rule Platform Engineering Team aims to establish TRUST as the leading solution for Crypto Travel Rule compliance, protecting customer privacy and security while complying with industry standards. As a member of the Travel Rule team, you will focus on creating a seamless end-to-end user experience, utilizing frontend technologies for user interfaces, and constructing backend services using microservices architecture. You will guide the multi-year roadmap for enhancing engineering and platform development at Coinbase while closely collaborating with product teams to understand and address customer needs. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop distributed systems. Provide technical leadership and work with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps. Prioritize individual projects, deadlines, and deliverables using your technical expertise. Mentor and train team members on design practices and coding standards. Design and implement foundational infrastructure components that support all engineering teams in production (e.g., dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration). Write high-quality, well-tested code to fulfill customer requirements. What We Look For: 8+ years of experience in software engineering. Experience in architecting and developing solutions to complex, ambiguous problems with significant impact. A deep passion for building an open financial system that connects the world. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with financial systems with a focus on reliability and security. Background in online fraud prevention systems. Experience in a rapidly growing company (e.g., scaling from 10 to hundreds of engineers). Familiarity with breaking down a monolithic application into microservices. Proficiency in Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, and Postgres. Experience with crypto, particularly in onchain activities like interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with decentralized applications. Job #: P70497 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $218,025 to $256,500 USD. Full-time offers at Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
