Role of Ethics & Compliance at Cardinal Health Ethics & Compliance is vital in establishing a culture built on integrity, accountability, and ethical decision-making across the organization. We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic leader to design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive compliance program that addresses the unique operational, legal, and ethical challenges within oncology practice management. This Director will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of ethical conduct, ensuring that all business practices comply with applicable laws, adhere to industry best practices, and reflect the core values of Cardinal Health, all while supporting exceptional patient care and organizational success. This position demands a strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can make decisions amidst ambiguity and changing priorities. The ideal candidate should possess a robust healthcare compliance background, a solid understanding of relevant laws and regulations, and a proven track record of implementing risk-based solutions in complex organizations. Responsibilities Ensure the implementation of a robust compliance program and foster a strong culture of compliance and ethics. Provide expert guidance on various laws, regulations, and the company’s ethical standards, including Federal and State Anti-Kickback Statutes, False Claims Act, Stark Law, Corporate Practice of Medicine, and Business Conduct. Conduct quarterly Compliance Committee Meetings with senior management. Participate in annual organizational risk assessments to identify and prioritize potential compliance risks through collaborative efforts with departments while monitoring the regulatory landscape. Develop and implement compliance work plans based on risk assessment findings, including objective setting, responsibility assignments, timelines, and monitoring systems. Stay updated on new regulations, laws, and policies that affect our industry and work to cultivate subject matter experts within the team. Identify necessary enhancements to Ethics and Compliance activities based on changes in legal requirements and business strategies. Collaborate with business partners to coordinate monitoring and auditing of compliance areas. Identify and communicate findings, trends, and activities that may necessitate changes in policies, procedures, internal controls, or training. Work with the Ethics and Compliance Department staff, operations, Legal, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to thoroughly investigate compliance issues or regulatory violations and ensure implementation of remediation plans as needed. Develop and deliver annual compliance training for all employees. Lead or oversee compliance-related due diligence and integration initiatives. Qualifications Experience in leadership roles within a managed services organization in the healthcare sector is strongly preferred. Significant prior experience in building or contributing to the development of a compliance program is highly valued. Advanced degrees such as an MHA, JD, or MBA are preferred but not required. Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance is ideal. Self-motivated and independent, with discernment on when to escalate issues or seek guidance. Ability to synthesize regulations and provide applicable regulatory guidance to senior management. Experience in leading teams and facilitating change. Exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills. Proficient in project management, particularly in handling multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously. Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to interpret legal and compliance requirements for various audiences. Organizational insight with the capability to adapt recommendations based on the audience. Demonstrates enthusiasm and a proactive approach, managing responsibilities with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment. Willingness to travel as needed. Salary and Benefits The anticipated salary range for this role is $137,300 - $211,200 USD, with bonus eligibility.
