Gentiva Hospice is looking for volunteers (18 and up) to help provide support to patients with a life limiting condition and their caregivers. We are looking for volunteers who share the same values we have as part of our mission. They are: Be authentic Show compassion Embrace accountability Champion successes big and small Innovate for the future If you share these values, then we we would like to hear from you and discuss how volunteers provide: Companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and their caregivers Respite (sitting with a patient) while the caregiver run errands Run errands for the patient and caregiver We support our volunteers by providing: On going trainings to learn the latest and best methods to provide volunteer service to patients and their caregivers Give one on one support through the volunteer process Social mixers (no alcohol served) to allows volunteers to share their with other volunteers You choose how you want to serve and how often. Our volunteers are here to help meet the non-medical needs of our patients, their families, and our Gentiva staff. No medical experience is necessary and volunteers DO NOT perform nursing duties or dispense medications.
