System Operator / Technician

Join us and help protect what matters most!The System Operator will Set-up, adjust, and operate automated assembly equipment. Works in a team environment on shop floor by performing the following duties.SYSTEM OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Review faults on HMI screens and follow proper steps for quick fault recoveryEscalate ongoing issues to Maintenance Technicians to ensure optimal machine efficiencyTroubleshoot root causes of scrap and machine downtimeObserve machine bottlenecks and escalate to production leadershipUtilize HMI data collection to identify improvement opportunitiesAssist Maintenance Technicians with ongoing preventative maintenance Monitor scrap rates and enter electronically into JDEDisassembles sprinklers and components for salvage of partsInspects and packages sprinklers to Viking quality standardsTest sprinklers according to approval laboratory guidelinesChange tooling using hand tools and set-up for changeoversSet-up, adjusts and qualifies automated equipment Handle and pull any material necessary for cell, including some fork truck operationPerforms all aspects of the cell to optimize and maintain optimum production.Rotates throughout the assembly and assists each member of the cell when needed.Completes all necessary documents for both the Quality system and for production planning.Cleans and maintains cell daily.Lift up to 40lbs on occasion and 25lbs on a regular basis.Performs other duties as assigned. SYSTEM OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge is needed of business processes such as basic accounting procedures, operation of equipment such as bookkeeping, computer operations, and MS Office Suite.Requires the ability to understand and carry out assigned responsibilities effectively, using both verbal and non-verbal communication.
