This is a pivotal role in Information Technology Operations that directly supports our engine manufacturing facility. We are building top-of-the-line engines for Ford and Lincoln products, including the F-150, Explorer, and Bronco, at this sprawling plant. This position provides a unique opportunity to be part of our Site IT team and contribute to the modernization of our plant floor with innovative technology aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing complexity. As a member of the Plant IT team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless operation of systems necessary to maintain our extensive facility. You'll be tasked with providing technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and problem resolution for the applications and infrastructure that facilitate the machining and assembly of our engines. Your expertise will be vital in driving process improvement efforts, fostering flexible and lean manufacturing practices, and supporting the implementation of IIOT solutions within our operations. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and protect all IT services at the site, covering data centers, network equipment, servers, PCs, mobile devices, and applications such as UPS, Power Distribution Units, and various operating systems. Assist in the management and support of plant floor equipment throughout the facility. Troubleshoot WiFi/Bluetooth issues and ensure the reliability of wireless networks. Support plant networks and gain familiarity with ACLs and PLCs. Manage antivirus software and ensure compliance with security protocols. Facilitate escalation of issues to global support teams with appropriate impact assessments to drive resolutions. Balance the needs of 24/7 operations with IT priorities, including critical patch deployments. Support a multi-shift operation, demonstrating flexibility in work schedules. Align IT and business timelines for production changes and updates to minimize disruption. Contribute to major initiatives such as New Model Program launches and infrastructure upgrades. Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues faced by end-users on the plant floor. Perform physical tasks as needed on the plant floor, including moving assets and equipment. Develop and maintain strong relationships with site business partners. Participate in the site’s Operating Committee as appropriate. Enforce IT policies and educate teams on their application. Assist in developing and testing Disaster Recovery plans. Keep IT leadership informed about issues and significant events. Supervise site operations team and manage development opportunities for team members. Engage in cybersecurity initiatives to address and remediate cyber issues. Qualifications: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. A strong interest in manufacturing operations from an IT viewpoint is essential. A broad understanding of business and manufacturing perspectives is beneficial. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure production environment with flexible working hours. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience working collaboratively with diverse teams under pressure. Proficiency in communicating effectively with both business users and IT professionals. Aptitude for problem-solving and implementing preventative measures. Quick learner capable of absorbing new technologies and adjusting to business needs. Leadership qualities for mentoring and advising team members. Motivated self-starter with an ability to work unsupervised. Manufacturing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
