Emergency Department Patient Population: Patients of all acuities, ages, and stages of life. Patient Ratios: 1:4 Number of Beds: 21 Department Specifics: 20k+ visits per year, Level III Trauma Center, Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, In-house L&D services, National Certification Champion Award winner from Board Certification of Emergency Nursing (BCEN) with 56% certification rate, 100% Board Certified Emergency Physicians, and strong unit engagement through an active shared governance council. Job Summary Registered Nurse Charge oversees patient care, follows nursing regulations, fulfills organization's priorities, enhancing responsibility to promote mission. The main tasks of the role involve evaluating patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, creating personalized care plans, and assessing patient responses. What You'll Do You will utilize nursing judgement and reasoning to make precise health assessments, ensuring these assessments align with standard practices. You will check nursing procedures. Use research to make changes. You will demonstrate caring practices by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort, aiming to foster healing and prevent excess distress.
