Key Responsibilities Primary: Perform all duties of the Patient Care Specialist as outlined in their job description. Foster friendly, trusting relationships with colleagues and maintain a positive environment. Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies. Uphold the Core Values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness. Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA knowledge. Prepare exam and treatment rooms for incoming patients. Triage patients by checking vital signs, performing blood draws, and administering injections. Monitor patients, document changes in conditions, and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Assist with laboratory testing and phlebotomy tasks. Support providers during minor procedures and physicals. Maintain and prepare supplies and equipment for patient treatment. Assist patients using Virtual Medicine Providers. Ensure patient charts are accurately completed and forwarded daily. Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed. Maintain a positive and respectful workplace, ensuring confidentiality is upheld. Complete mandatory compliance training. Keep the office clean and organized to support a professional appearance. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Secondary: Assist with clerical tasks, including patient check-in and recording essential information. Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies. Contribute to team efforts by managing phone calls and messages professionally. Specific Functions for Supporting Telehealth: Prepare patient charts for virtual communication via phone or video. Assist with patient follow-ups on medication requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls. Qualifications: Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and at least 1 year as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinical setting, preferably urgent care. Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with CPR certification and either 4 years of experience in a relevant role or 6 years of experience in a similar position. Level 3: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with CPR certification and either 6 years of experience in a relevant role or 8 years in a similar role. Level 4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with CPR certification with similar experience requirements as Level 3. Additional responsibilities will include administration tasks such as scheduling and training as assigned by management. Health certifications, including TB and IV Certification, are required to be obtained within the first 60 days of employment if applicable in your state.
