Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, offering a unique opportunity to grow as a Registered Nurse through a structured residency program. This role provides comprehensive nursing care in emergency and acute care settings, guided by experienced preceptors and supported by a curriculum designed to enhance critical competencies such as communication, time management, and patient safety. Job Summary Under general supervision, the RN Resident delivers nursing care using sound judgment and foundational knowledge of nursing principles. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, assisting providers during patient examinations, accurately documenting care, and developing individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission. The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing learning, and adherence to nursing standards and legal requirements. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required. Experience and Certifications Current and unrestricted nursing license in Washington State. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Skills and Abilities Proficient knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles across all age groups. Strong commitment to patient privacy and safety, following HIPAA standards. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document accurately. Comfortable using technology including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This full-time position involves 8-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek. Physical demands include frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech must be within normal range, with or without corrective devices. Additional Information The residency program lasts one year and includes online modules, reflective journaling, live discussions, and a culminating project to support the transition from education to practice.
