The RN Pre-op provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN Pre-op supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN Pre-op reports to the Manager of Peri-operative Services.#USP-123#LI-CM1Required SkillsQualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursingCurrent Texas Nursing LicenseCurrent BLS, ACLS and PALSMinimum of 2 years Pre-Op or acute experienceStrong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patientUnderstand principles of aseptic technique and their implementationAbility to care for patients from infancy to geriatricsKnowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errorsAbility to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when neededExcellent teaching skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsDemonstrate strong professional and ethical behaviorAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees.
