Director, Accounts Receivable

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with our client in the commercial services space to support their search for a Director of Accounts Receivable. This newly created, high-impact role puts you in the driver's seat to transform a decentralized, multi-location AR function, integrate newly acquired businesses, and directly influence cash flow and operational efficiency across the organization. What You'll Do: Lead, mentor, and develop AR teams across multiple locations, building accountability and high performance Oversee billing, cash application, collections, and credit management to optimize cash flow and minimize risk Standardize processes and document SOPs to create consistency and scalability across all offices Define, track, and report KPIs to measure AR performance and team accountability Lead the integration of newly acquired businesses into the AR function with a clear playbook Partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership on reporting, strategy, and process improvements Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives within AR Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve disputes and enhance the customer experience What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 10+ years of progressive AR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role Hands-on experience managing billing, cash application, collections, and credit in a B2B environment Experience leading multi-location teams and integrating acquired companies preferred Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency; experience with Sage Intacct a plus Self-starter with strong interpersonal and leadership skills Comfortable in a hands-on, high-volume, fast-paced environment
