Benefits Competitive Salary Major Health Insurance Carrier Dental Health Insurance Vision Insurance 401K - match 50% Short term Disability Job Summary: The purpose of the Superintendent is to train and develop the workforce to meet safety, quality, and production requirements. This individual has the authority to and will enforce policies and procedures that govern the production floor. This individual will oversee all departments to accomplish production goals. Recommends disciplinary actions to the appropriate Manager. This individual has the ability to modify daily objectives when unforeseen circumstances arise. Required Qualifications: Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment or combination of education and experience. Strong Microsoft Office Skills Intimate knowledge of welding, metal stamping and forming, and/or paint operations Automotive manufacturing experience to include knowledge of customer releasing and shipping requirements Very strong sense of urgency, ability to think objectively and make decisions accordingly, as well as the ability to get things done Must be people oriented Responsibilities: Supervision of all departments Make sure daily manufacturing requirements are met to meet customer demands Ensure conformance to all quality systems and standards Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and subordinates in all departments Ensure conformance to manufacturing schedule Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials, WIP, MRO items, ensure machine uptime, and adequate human resources Meet financial goals as outlined in the business plan - control shift scrap/labor cost and Opex Savings Look for continuous improvement ideas Ensure compliance with Federal/State/Local safety and environmental regulations Seek ways to reduce waste and manufacturing byproducts Inspire teamwork among shift leadership Understand and Follow the Escalation Process Solve production problems in a timely manner and follow escalation process when necessary Abide by and enforce all company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook Report any issues from the shift to the proper Management Team Good understanding of the 123 Sheet and the Manning Sheet and ensure that they match daily Superintendent is not to administer employee time and attendance/time off unless approved by the HR Manager Ability to prioritize Production based on the Top 5 List Working Conditions 10% office, 90% plant floor (PPE required) Effort/Physical Demands Constant communication with peers and management Open and transparent communication of safety, quality, and personnel issues Evaluate and determine proper escalation process for employee related HR issues Overtime as required Health and Safety Responsibilities Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures Ensure Leadership enforces proper PPE is in use on the floor daily Back-up Duties: Perform other duties as required
