Job Description Estimator - Residential Home Builder Location: Office-based with limited field exposure encouraged Experience Level: 5-7+ years About the Role We are a growing residential home builder seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone currently working as a Project Manager or Assistant PM who wants to transition into estimating, or for an established estimator with strong residential experience. Office-based with opportunities to visit job sites as needed to stay connected to the field. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for custom and semi-custom residential homes Manage the full estimating process for each home, including takeoffs, pricing, and final budgets Solicit, review, and level subcontractor bids Manage selections and pricing in coordination with ownership and the Interior Designer Maintain and update cost data, budgets, and historical pricing Review construction plans, identify gaps, and redline plans as needed Utilize BuilderTrend to manage estimates, bids, and selections Work closely with operations and project management to ensure smooth handoffs Qualifications 5-7+ years of experience in residential construction (Estimator, PM, or Assistant PM) Strong understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing Ability to read, interpret, and redline construction drawings Proficiency with BuilderTrend, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Excel Experience working with interior designers and managing finishes/selections Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills Field experience is a plus and encouraged, though not a daily requirement Why This Role Clear growth path for PMs looking to move into estimating Collaborative environment working directly with design and construction teams Primarily office-based with balanced field exposure Stable, long-term opportunity with a respected residential builder Please send your resume to megan.cantone@ OR call 605-610-1570 All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
