Job Description

Carpenter #LI-Skilled-01 Carpenters cut, fabricate, and install wooden and other structures as specified. The position entails working on various projects to produce long-lasting and functional structures, with a good knowledge of construction tools and materials. Essential Job Functions Install wooden and metal structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work. Install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures Select lumber and other materials by size and strength to suit each project, sourcing wood and other materials based on provided designs and specifications Calculate the number of fasteners and other hardware required for each project Coordinate with customers, suppliers, project managers, superintendents, and other construction professionals Read blueprints, designs, and specifications prepared by other construction professionals, designers, inspectors, etc. Provide personal tools as needed to complete each project Perform other duties as assigned Experience and Education Proven experience as a carpenter Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.) Ability to read technical documents and drawings Willingness to always follow safety guidelines Good understanding of basic math Good physical condition and endurance High school diploma or equivalent Successful completion of an apprenticeship program is a plus Benefits PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
