Principal Sourcing Specialist (Operational Procurement) Location Power Generation Facilities / Corporate Office Travel required: 1020% (as needed to support other plants) Position Overview The Principal Sourcing Specialist is a hands?on, operational procurement role focused on processing and issuing Purchase Orders (POs) in support of day?to?day business and plant operations. This position is non?strategic in nature and is responsible for executing procurement transactions efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with supply chain policies. This role supports an Operational Procurement Center, working closely with internal business partners and suppliers to fulfill purchase requests, manage PO activity, and resolve procurement?related issues. While collaboration with Strategic Sourcing may occur, this role does not lead sourcing strategy or RFP?driven initiatives. Key Responsibilities Process high volumes of purchase requisitions into Purchase Orders (POs) for materials and services Identify appropriate sources of supply using existing strategic agreements or qualified suppliers Conduct Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and perform competitive pricing analysis Issue, manage, and maintain Purchase Orders and Blanket Agreements Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery confirmations, performance, and invoice issues Collaborate with business unit requisitioners to ensure accurate understanding of purchasing needs Coordinate with Strategic Sourcing to align with existing agreements and identify bid opportunities when needed Support outage planning and project?based procurement activities for power generation facilities Track and report procurement savings, supplier performance, and key metrics Update pricing and terms on outline and blanket agreements to ensure accuracy and compliance Ensure adherence to all operational procurement policies and procedures Provide coaching and mentoring to junior procurement specialists Lead or support operational procurement process improvement initiatives Working Conditions Combination of office environment and power plant sites Occasional overtime during peak workload periods or special projects Travel required 1020% of the time Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 57 years of sourcing or procurement experience, with a strong focus on Purchase Order processing Prior supply management experience in power generation or industrial environments 1+ year of SAP experience Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and Power BI Strong negotiation and supplier communication skills Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workload independently Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field Experience supporting procurement for Generation, Retail, or Corporate business units Institute for Supply Management (ISM) certification (CPSM or similar) Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal stakeholders and suppliers Detail?oriented with the ability to manage high volumes of transactional work Comfortable working in a fast?paced, execution?focused procurement environment Strong analytical and reporting skills Proven ability to mentor and support junior team members #J-18808-Ljbffr
