Your role will involve constructing and managing scalable cloud services, dedicated to meeting the demands of customers tackling complex global challenges. Key Responsibilities: As an Applied Scientist with the Generative AI Service team, you will spearhead the development of high-performance AI models and systems, collaborating closely with fellow scientists and engineers. Your expertise will enhance model architecture for optimal performance. You will help shape the future of Generative AI at Oracle, focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and multi-modality systems, making significant contributions to our innovative enterprise services. Work with product managers to transform business needs into AI projects. Partner with technical leaders for successful model delivery and service integration. Coordinate globally to transition projects from research to production-ready solutions. Develop new OCI services leveraging generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning advancements. Design and evaluate generative AI architectures based on best practices. Provide mentorship to both junior and senior machine learning engineers. Produce production-level code and uphold best engineering practices. Engage in project planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Identify and address risks in our project execution, especially at the intersection of business and engineering. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate evaluation capabilities and explore new technologies. Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics, or related field with a focus on Machine Learning and Deep Learning by December 2025. Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Solid understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning architectures, including Transformers. Practical experience with LLM technologies and techniques like instruction fine-tuning and prompt engineering. Hands-on experience with emerging LLM frameworks and plugins. Background in Natural Language Processing or Computer Vision, with proven research and development experience. Experience in areas such as ASR, TTS, or conversational AI is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills in AI/ML or related domains. Experience in designing data collection and evaluation strategies for production systems. Commitment to staying updated in the field and applying new academic insights to business challenges. Strong publication record in relevant journals or conferences. Residency in the United States or enrollment at a US university. Able to obtain work authorization in the US by 2025. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with LLM and experience in delivering Generative AI models. Experience with advancements in computer vision and multimodal modeling. Strong grasp of machine learning algorithms. Open-source contributions to the AI/ML community. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Pay and Benefits: The role offers a salary range of $97,500 to $199,500 per annum, with eligibility for bonuses and equity.
