About the Role The Lead AI Engineer will autonomously lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced AI and machine learning systems. Collaborate closely with architects and product leaders to deliver scalable and secure cloud-native AI solutions. This individual contributor role is pivotal in driving technical decisions across data, model, and infrastructure layers, solving intricate engineering challenges, and setting high technical standards that elevate team practices. Your hands-on expertise, mentorship, and strategic input will significantly enhance our enterprise AI and generative AI capabilities while ensuring compliance with security, data governance, and responsible AI standards. Design complex AI/ML systems, pipelines, and model-serving architectures for enterprise workloads. Build reusable frameworks and tools to expedite AI engineering across teams. Analyze large-scale data sets and model performance for optimization. Architect distributed workflows to improve model reliability and accuracy. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define technical requirements and solution strategies. Provide hands-on leadership through design and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers. Implement advanced automated testing for various aspects of AI systems. Troubleshoot complex pipeline and infrastructure issues. Optimize performance throughout the full model lifecycle. Document architectural decisions and engineering best practices. Contribute to AI roadmap planning and future capability development. Participate in incident response for deployed AI systems. Research and assess emerging AI technologies for enterprise use. Qualifications 4+ years of professional experience in AI/ML or software engineering. Demonstrated experience in leading technical efforts or mentoring teams. Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks. Strong understanding of distributed systems and data pipelines. Proven ability to perform advanced debugging in complex environments. Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration. Willingness to travel occasionally for project collaborations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related technical field; Master's degree preferred. Relevant cloud and AI certifications. Advanced hands-on experience with major cloud services. Strong background in containerization and infrastructure automation. Experience with cloud ML platforms and GPU workloads. Expertise in generative AI and transformer models. Hands-on experience with vector databases and GenAI frameworks. Understanding of LLM APIs and quality evaluation frameworks. Ability to work independently and tackle complex challenges.
