JOB SUMMARY The Culinary Specialist is essential for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen while swiftly preparing all food orders according to guests' requests and our signature recipes. This role involves effective communication with the service team and expo to ensure that all food meets guests' expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare a variety of foods using diverse methods of preparation while adhering to specific product prep and handling procedures and plate presentation. Thrive in a fast-paced environment by accomplishing multiple tasks within established time frames. Utilize the Kitchen Display System (KDS) effectively to maintain service flow, control costs/waste, and prepare items according to specifications, accommodating guest modifications when necessary. Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Consistently follow recipes to provide high-quality and uniform products to guests. Ensure cleanliness throughout the kitchen and maintain the flow of prepared food. Communicate ticket times and potential issues with managers and servers as needed. Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up cooking stations. Clean and sanitize the work area at the end of the shift according to the HOH Cleaning Program. Ensure proper rotation of all products and stock items to par levels. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the shift. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs, frequently throughout the shift, and place items in high storage areas and walk-in freezers. Must stand for the duration of the shift. Work in a hot, damp environment regularly. Experience working with open flame and kitchen machinery. Capable of holding kitchen tools and items for extended periods, typically weighing around 5 lbs. Able to read a kitchen display monitor from a distance of 4 feet. Effective communication skills to ensure guest satisfaction. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires regular attendance and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Frequent physical activities include hearing, speaking, walking, crawling, climbing, reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, stooping, lifting, and carrying items up to 70 lbs. Candidates should be able to tolerate significant temperature changes and frequent immersion of hands in water and various cleaning solutions. Vision requirements include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
