Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as a Data Center Commissioning Manager The Data Center Infrastructure team at OCI is at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge GigaScale data centers quickly and efficiently. Our team consists of experienced project and program managers who collaborate with internal teams and external partners to execute complex builds, driving OCI's capacity growth and future success. About the Role: As a Data Center Commissioning Manager, you will lead the entire commissioning strategy and execution for OCI data center capacity, from initial design concepts through Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and successful operational handover, including GPU/rack readiness objectives. You will work in a dynamic, matrixed organization to ensure reliable, repeatable commissioning outcomes by aligning Engineering, Construction, Telecom/Low Voltage, Controls, Security, and Operations teams. Your goal will be to ensure that systems are safe, compliant, thoroughly tested, and ready for large-scale production. Key Responsibilities Own the comprehensive commissioning strategy and execution across multiple data center projects, ensuring consistent and repeatable results. Develop and govern critical Cx deliverables such as Cx plans, test scripts/procedures, checklists, IST plans, MOPs/SOPs, and turnover documentation. Oversee and coordinate Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including planning, prerequisites, execution oversight, defect tracking, and retest closure. Ensure system readiness across key infrastructure domains: MEP, EPMS, BMS/controls, generators, UPS, switchgear, chillers, and associated alarms/monitoring. Communicate commissioning milestones, constraints, risks, and blockers to leadership and cross-functional teams effectively. Supervise commissioning vendors/agents and contractors, validating the quality of testing, documentation, and project closeout. Promote a strong safety and compliance culture during testing and energization activities. Daily Responsibilities Collaborate with Design/Engineering to ensure commissionability is considered upfront (sequences of operation, points lists, alarms, trending). Establish commissioning requirements for: Factory witness testing (FWT) and FAT/SAT when applicable Level 1-5 commissioning stages Equipment startup and functional performance testing (FPT) IST and operational scenarios Work closely with Construction and Trades to enforce prerequisite discipline before testing (installation completed, pre-functional checks, TAB complete). Lead issue management: log defects, assign ownership, prioritize by risk/criticality, track to resolution, and validate retests. Provide clear status updates including milestone tracking, readiness dashboards, risk registers, and turnover readiness. Facilitate handoff to Operations: include training, spare parts, O&M manuals, as-built documents, and acceptance criteria. Ensure commissioning results align with owner design intent, reliability targets, and operational documentation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Extensive experience commissioning mission-critical facilities (data centers highly preferred), including knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Proven ability to lead commissioning through: Functional testing IST planning and execution Energization and start-up coordination Turnover and operational acceptance Strong understanding of: Critical electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear) Cooling systems (chillers, CRAHs, pumps) Control systems (BMS, EPMS, alarms) Experience working with contractors, commissioning agents, and vendors, with the ability to influence outcomes. Excellent documentation and communication skills; comfortable presenting to diverse audiences. Knowledge of applicable codes/standards and best practices in commissioning. Preferred Qualifications Direct commissioning experience with GPU/high-density or liquid-cooled data halls. Experience with hyperscale or multi-site programs utilizing standardized commissioning processes. Professional certifications: CxA/CCP, PMP, PE, LEED (as applicable). Familiarity with digital commissioning tools and platforms. Solid background in operational readiness, including runbooks, MOP/SOP creation, and operator training. Keen understanding of reliability validation practices and redundancy testing scenarios. The hiring range for this role is $120,100 to $251,600 annually, with potential eligibility for bonuses, equity, and compensation deferrals.
