Pay and Schedule Touring Driver Pay: Starting pay during tours: $1,800/week, with the potential to earn up to $2,500/week as your role evolves. Regional freight between tours averages $1,475/week (mileage-based). Note: All drivers initially start in Averitt's regional division for 30 days (mileage-based pay). Tour assignments and salary-based pay commence after transfer approval. Touring Driver Schedule: Tour Season: March to October. Tours could last several weeks; home time may be limited unless routes are close to your residence. Off-Season: November to February. During this time, drivers typically handle regional, no-touch freight to maintain steady income. Your Responsibilities Transport staging, lighting, and production equipment for major live events. Assist with loading/unloading and securely fastening equipment using straps and load bars. Safely navigate tight or unconventional venue locations. Drive mainly at night to adhere to strict delivery schedules. Driver Highlights Night driving is often required to meet event timelines. Commitment to complete the entire tour or production once assigned is essential. Routes span the U.S. and Canada (a valid passport is required; Averitt covers costs if necessary). CDL-A Touring Truck Driver - Live Event Truck Driver - Concert Freight Driver - Production Truck Driver CDL-A Touring Driver Requirements Minimum of 30 days of driving experience with Averitt is required before consideration for a Production and Event role. Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid Class A CDL with a willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement. Flatbed certification is necessary (training will be provided). A valid passport for Canada tours is required (Averitt will reimburse if needed). 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years. Entertainment/touring driving experience is preferred but not compulsory. No reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years. No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 5 years. No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation in the past 5 years. No serious violations in the last 12 months. No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years. Essential Functions Drive effectively and responsibly. Open/close trailer doors (force requirement: 46 lbs). Accurately count freight. Complete fuel tickets correctly. Hook/unhook trailers (force requirement: 90 lbs). Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections. Extensive travel - capability to sit upright for prolonged periods. Move freight (force requirement: 54 lbs). Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Safely enter/exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle. Access the rear of a trailer from ground level safely.
