What You Will Be Doing Our client, a prominent plumbing contractor in Matthews, NC, is seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join their team. Job Summary: As a Project Estimator for commercial plumbing, you will prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial plumbing projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with at least 2 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating and pre-bidding processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices. Key Responsibilities: Review project plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates for commercial plumbing projects. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for plumbing estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of commercial plumbing projects are considered. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, plumbing materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Analyze historical data and market trends to provide accurate plumbing pricing. Participate in pre-bid meetings and develop pre-bid strategies for commercial plumbing projects. Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with plumbing projects. Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner. Maintain and update a database of unit costs and productivity rates for commercial plumbing projects. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Assist in the negotiation of contracts and change orders. Provide support during the project execution phase as needed. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating. Proven experience in the pre-bidding process for commercial plumbing projects. Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and regulations. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project). Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
