Director of Quality Assurance & Logistics

The Director of Quality Assurance & Logistics owns the Quality Management System (QMS) and Logistics function end-to-end. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure Coastal consistently meets customer, regulatory, and operational expectations.You will lead Quality Assurance, Safety, Shipping & Receiving, and Compliance, while driving continuous improvement across audits, corrective actions, supplier quality, and delivery performance.Key Responsibilities-Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (API Q1/AS9100 / ISO-based)-Own internal, customer, and third-party audits and corrective action systems-Establish quality strategy, metrics, and governance across the organization-Oversee Shipping & Receiving, logistics workflows, and OTD performance-Drive root cause analysis, CoPQ reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives-Partner with Manufacturing and QC leadership to ensure inspection rigor and process control-Build, mentor, and scale high-performing QA and Logistics teams-Serve as the senior point of contact for customer quality and compliance mattersWhat Success Looks LikeAudit readiness is continuous-not reactiveClear separation and alignment between Quality Assurance and Quality ControlMeasurable reductions in CoPQ and repeat NCRsConsistent on-time delivery and shipping accuracyA proactive, systems-driven quality culture embedded across the shopIdeal BackgroundSenior quality leadership experience in precision manufacturingStrong working knowledge of API Q1 / AS9100 / ISO quality systemsExperience leading audits, corrective actions, and compliance programsProven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence operationsComfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentWhy Coastal?Coastal Machine & Supply is a fully digital precision manufacturing company serving customers in aerospace, defense, space, and energy.
