Overview We are seeking an experienced Fuel Truck Mechanic to join our Houston-based maintenance team. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician with a strong background in heavy-duty truck repair and diagnostics, particularly with fuel delivery equipment. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and major/minor repairs on fuel trucks and associated components. This position is primarily based in a truck shop environment; however, remote service and road service calls will be required at times. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy-duty fuel trucks and related systems Conduct preventive maintenance and DOT-compliant inspections Diagnose and repair engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel delivery systems, brakes, suspensions, and drivetrains Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify performance issues (Cummins Insite experience preferred) Respond to remote service and road service calls when required Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation Ensure all repairs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and fleet managers regarding repair status and needed parts Maintain a clean and safe work environment Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in heavy truck maintenance or a similar role Must supply personal hand tools; company provides all major shop tools Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills Certifications preferred (ASE, OEM certifications, diesel tech certificates, etc.) Cummins Insite experience preferred; additional OEM diagnostic experience is a plus Lite fabrication skills, welding, cutting, and fabrication experience are a plus Valid driver's license required CDL with HAZMAT endorsement are required within 90 days of employment if not currently held Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy components as needed Strong understanding of DOT and safety regulations Schedule Normal schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM May be required to work overtime during emergency situations or natural disasters Benefits Competitive pay (DOE) Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.) Tool allowance Paid time off and holidays Uniforms/PPE provided Opportunities for training and advancement
