Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Reports to: General Manager Overview: As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all mechanical equipment is well-maintained and in optimal working condition. Your responsibilities will include performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving issues, training and assisting team members, and collaborating with external vendors when necessary. Your proactive approach will contribute to a seamless experience for both guests and staff. In this position, you will be required to walk frequently, use hands for handling objects and tools, communicate effectively, and stand for long periods. The role involves reaching, climbing, stooping, bending, and occasionally lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds or more. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required, and you must pass as an approved driver. Key Responsibilities: Your essential duties and responsibilities will vary based on the hotel's needs, and may include: Guest Room Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance and address repair requests in guest rooms, including troubleshooting plumbing issues, HVAC systems, and entertainment equipment. Public Area Maintenance: Ensure all public spaces are maintained to high standards by addressing repair requests promptly and efficiently. Fire Alarm/Life Safety System: Understand and monitor the operation of fire alarms and safety systems, handling emergencies when they arise. Tool Management: Maintain all tools and equipment focused on hotel needs and ensure proper storage and security. Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergencies to protect guests and staff, and to restore building functionality. Safety and Accident Prevention: Work carefully to maintain a safe environment and proactively identify and rectify any hazards. Record Keeping: Maintain logs, checklists, inventories, and documents required by the hotel and local authorities, while ensuring timely vendor responses. General Duties: Complete assigned tasks professionally and communicate frequently with supervisors and team members. Guest Service Focus: Be attentive to guest service scores and actively contribute to achieving hotel goals. All other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: This position requires frequent use of ladders, walking, climbing stairs, standing for extended periods, and lifting/carrying items weighing up to 50+ lbs. Employees are expected to comply with all hotel rules and regulations for a safe and efficient operation. Violation of policies could lead to disciplinary actions, including termination. Note: The hotel operates 24/7, which may require flexibility in scheduling. Maintaining a hospitable service atmosphere is essential.
