We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in high-pressure environments to join our Northeast Field Service Operations Team. The Field Service Technician Co-Op will gain invaluable hands-on experience by collaborating with skilled technical leaders. You will directly support public safety customers in the Northeastern region by merging RF communications and computer/networking knowledge. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the execution of mission-critical field activities by applying academic principles in a dynamic work environment. Demonstrate proficiency in Networking and/or Radio Frequency systems. Provide technical support for specialized telecommunications systems and public safety applications. Maintain and document intricate communications systems. Submit weekly reports detailing your activities and achievements. Develop innovative solutions to technical challenges encountered during system maintenance, upgrades, or support tasks. Engage in continuous training on the latest technologies and troubleshooting methods. Preferred Knowledge and Experience: Pursuing certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA, or NRS1. Familiarity with wired communication systems, including LAN and WAN. Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer networks, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges. Understanding of RF interfaces and systems, including transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks. Knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques. Experience with logging recording systems. Technical Skills Development: Experience with Motorola Base Stations (GTR series, Quantar, etc.). Proficiency with Consoles (MCC7500E and MCC7500). Knowledge of Computer IP Networks and Configuration. Familiarity with RF Infrastructure Technologies like Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet, and Console Systems. Hands-On Experience with Testing Equipment: Communication System Analyzers. Ethernet Link test sets. Digital RF Power Meter. Motorola Conventional, SmartNet, and MCC Console systems. This will enable you to apply your academic knowledge practically and lay the foundation for a successful career. This position entails working in high-security environments governed by the U.S. Department of Justice's CJIS Security Policy, requiring successful completion of a stringent fingerprint background check. Basic Requirements: Must be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program at a recognized college, university, or technical school. Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining the necessary security clearance as dictated by government contracts. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
