This role will primarily focus on analyzing project plans and specifications, performing material and labor take-offs, and preparing detailed cost estimates and bids for plumbing and mechanical system installations, as well as renewal projects. Key Responsibilities: Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project scope to understand requirements. Conduct detailed material and labor take-offs to quantify necessary components. Develop comprehensive cost estimates for various project elements, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Prepare detailed bid proposals, ensuring they are profitable and aligned with project goals. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize estimates. Obtain quotes from suppliers and negotiate with subcontractors for best value. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all project estimates and documentation. Support the preconstruction and implementation phases of projects to manage costs effectively. Qualifications & Skills: Strong knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems, materials, and industry regulations. Ability to interpret complex documents and perform detailed calculations with precision. Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Trimble, McCormick) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration. Adept at reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications. Capable of managing multiple bids and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Education and Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; however, a high school diploma with relevant experience may suffice. 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the plumbing sector. Proficient in estimating software and other financial analysis tools. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation are required.
