Steel Estimator Overview: In this role, you will be essential in estimating and preparing bids for various commercial construction projects. Your duties will include evaluating project specifications, creating precise cost estimates, and assisting in contract acquisition. You will also build solid relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, contributing to our sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in structural steel and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Estimating & Bidding: Develop accurate steel estimates for commercial construction projects, thoroughly analyzing project drawings, specifications, and related documents to identify scope and materials. Sales & Client Interaction: Partner with clients, architects, and general contractors to appreciate project requirements and provide competitive bids. Cultivate relationships and follow up on project prospects. Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Assess project requirements and costs, ensuring estimates align with budget constraints. Offer guidance on material selections and alternative solutions to fulfill design and budgetary requirements. Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with project management and fabrication teams to guarantee timely materials delivery and effective project execution. Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of experience in steel estimating, specifically in structural steel for commercial projects. Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes, structural steel design, and industry standards. Familiarity with estimating software is advantageous. Skills: Outstanding mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
