ABOUT THE Division General description The Integrated Business Applications team in Information Technology division believes that innovation, modernization, and transformation is all that we do. We are looking for a talented and skilled PowerBuilder Programmer to join our Agile team supporting a variety of custom applications. As part of the team, you will be continually challenged and responsible for delivering high performance solutions for our customers. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be working collaboratively to support our existing applications and working on modernization of those in as Agile environment. You will also be resolving problems, troubleshooting issues, debugging, and correcting defects. You are a great fit for this position if you are self-motivated, maintain and code to development standards, are exceptional at attention to details, have excellent communication skills and sound judgement, and work well in a team environment. Work Hours Work Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40-hour week, Monday - Friday. Occasionally work additional hours on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, including working on-call 24 hours a day during a rotation. Hours may change based on business need. Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 3day/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree. • Six (6) years of work experience in programming information system applications in PowerBuilder. • Six (6) years of work experience in programming information system applications in .NET • Six (6) years of work experience in supporting applications with a relational database. • Six (6) years of work experience in problem analysis, resolution and testing • Two (2) years of work experience in application architecture and design. • Two (2) years of work experience leading medium to large scale project. Preferred Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems. • Three (3) years of work experience using a structured Software Development Life Cycle methodology for software development and maintenance. • Six (6) years of experience with website development in Microsoft.NET environment (ASP.NET, C#, JQuery, HTML, CSS, REACT, JavaScript) with databases SQL Server and/or DB2. • Six (6) years of work experience interfacing applications with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or higher • One (1) year experience with complex applications security requirements • Two (2) years of work experience with SSRS and SSIS OR any BI tool • Three (3) years of experience in Agile and DevOps methodology as a developer. • Three (3) years of experience in building and deploying .NET applications. • Two (2) years of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tools preferably Jenkin, BitBucket, SonarQube, Git • Scrum Developer certification from an accredited organization Substitutions: One (1) additional year of experience in .Net development work may substitute for (30) thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years). In this role you will: • Performs programming for the software/system modifications per the technical and function requirements using modern technology tools and techniques; Performs unit and integration testing by coding and debugging software solutions and adopting industry best practices; enhances software scalability by following CPA's IT standards/guidelines/practices, architecture guideline and vision; develops and automates development operations as needed • Analyzes software applications requirements and change requests; designs and documents software solutions; draws process flows; writes systems documentations as needed; revises software for operational efficiencies; adapts to new processes/procedures to increase efficiency; coordinates small to medium scale projects; research new technology spectrum in the industry; guides team members as needed. • Performs testing, triaging and preparing test data to aid software testing; interacts with technical and non-technical staff in the coordination of changes and system implementation; • Provides Production support, incident management and resolution including on-call rotation support • Performs other related duties as assigned.
