SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The HR Specialist is responsible for assisting in employee onboarding/ offboarding, payroll, benefits invoicing and administration, recruiting, wellness, culture and other HR projects, programs & initiatives to support Partner Colorado Credit Union. CORE COMPETENCIES Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant compensation for all employees. Monitor payroll taxes, deductions, and earnings to meet regulatory requirements Update and maintain online job posting presence Write job posting to attract highly qualified candidates Assist with reviewing and updating job descriptions Recruiting and selection reporting Actively source candidates using job boards, cold calling/email, social media, industry contacts, print media and staffing agencies Perform reference and background checks updating VP of HR with any concerns Assigns, reviews, and ensures completion of electronic onboarding material & other tasks for all new hires in a timely manner Completes offboarding processes in a timely manner Leave Administration: Manage employee leave programs, including FAMLI, FMLA, state leaves, disability, and other leave types. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and timely processing of leave requests. Wellness Program Development: Designing and implementing wellness programs, including mental health support, fitness challenges, and stress reduction workshops Employee Engagement: Organizing initiatives that motivate staff and boost morale. Benefits Invoicing and Administration: manages company-sponsored benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k),, life insurance) Handles monthly invoice reconciliation with carriers, ensuring accurate employee deductions, enrollment, and compliance with regulations like ACA and COBRA. This role acts as a liaison between employees, vendors, and payroll, using HRIS to maintain data integrity and resolve billing discrepancies Monitor and work with department managers to ensure employee performance reviews & merit increases are completed in a timely manner Ensure Paylocity is kept up to date with latest HR information and documents and able to train on each feature, on request Keeps employee personnel files and other HR related documentation filed and up to date Responds to verification of employment and unemployment requests Assists VP of HR and other Senior Management as necessary with appointments, coordination of meetings, distribution of mail, etc. Collects and interprets data; creates HR reports, analyzes results using statistical techniques Prepare and update credit union organizational chart, employee phone and seniority lists Assists employees and supervisors with the basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures Assist in coordinating and maintaining benefit renewal process and year-round employee group insurance: applications, terminations, auditing and assisting employees with questions Assists with department invoices; maintains effective communication with other departments and vendors. Keep VP of HR informed of any organizational concerns, needs, etc. Adheres to compliance, policies & regulations Practices professional written and oral communication Other duties as assigned Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to create and maintain positive, constructive employee relations Ability to work with all levels of Management Strong knowledge of HRIS, Paylocity payroll, and benefits software. Employment Law and Compliance - knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations Detailed knowledge of benefit regulations (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA). Excellent analytical, mathematical, and interpersonal skills. Driven and results-oriented Ability to work independently and accurately Displays professionalism in appearance and demeanor Ability to organize and implement tasks assigned effectively Strong experience and knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 10-key, Paylocity HRIS EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING High school Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred EXPERIENCE One-year experience in Human Resources department HR Certification preferred (ie: PHR, SHRM-CP) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Starting hourly rate - $26.91 Being a part of Partner Colorado CU has its benefits.
