Description Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observational strategies. Create individualized treatment strategies aimed at achieving both immediate and long-term objectives related to communication, cognition, or swallowing. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focused on a range of areas including communication, language fluency, vocal expression, and swallowing functionalities. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to build seamless care approaches. Provide valuable education to patients and families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapy settings. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, aligning with federal, state, and organizational regulations. Engage in continuous professional development to remain at the forefront of the latest therapeutic advancements. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Active licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days post-employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques across all age ranges, along with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech and swallowing challenges. Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Flexibility to modify treatment methods to accommodate a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and analytical skills.
