The Role In the position of Senior Software Engineer at Lumen, you will harness innovative technologies to create, develop, and launch software solutions that enhance efficiency and drive business innovations. This role demands a robust understanding of contemporary coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment methodologies. Work Arrangement This is a remote position available to candidates across the United States. US Citizenship or Permanent Residence/Green Card is mandatory for consideration. Main Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain software applications using Java, with additional experience in Node.js, VueJS, or NestJS preferred. Proficiency in Python or GoLang is a bonus. Create scalable and secure APIs and MicroApps for seamless integration within complex systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub for effective software delivery. Deploy applications in cloud environments while ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Implement DevSecOps principles to bolster security and reliability throughout the development lifecycle. Engage in code reviews, upholding coding standards and best practices. Comprehend various network topologies to effectively integrate software solutions. Candidate Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 4 to 6+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a focus on Java and familiarity with Node.js, VueJS, or NestJS. Experience with cloud-based deployments is essential. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes in AWS (EC2, ECS, EKS) is required. Familiarity with database systems like MongoDB, NoSQL, or PostgreSQL. Understanding of network topologies and ability to configure network equipment. Experience with Temporal.io workflow management is preferred. Knowledge of generative AI development techniques and tools is advantageous. Strong analytical capabilities and adaptability to evolving technologies. Compensation The following reflects the anticipated base salary range for the Senior Software Engineer role, which may vary based on specific location and individual qualifications: $84,629 - $112,838 in several states, $88,860 - $118,480 in others, and up to $93,092 - $124,122 in the most competitive states.
