Pharmacist in ChargeJob Summary The Pharmacist in Charge oversees all pharmacy operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services. This role is responsible for managing medication dispensing, inventory control, staff supervision, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Pharmacist in Charge promotes a collaborative work environment and ensures exceptional service to patients, employees, and partners. ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Staff Management Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Monitor daily workflow to maximize efficiency and service quality. Foster teamwork and maintain a positive, patient-focused culture. Operations & Compliance Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures. Investigate, document, and resolve incidents or errors, promoting continuous improvement and patient safety. Communicate potential operational risks to leadership clearly and promptly. Inventory Management Manage inventory levels, including medication and supply ordering. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and reduce waste. Implement strategies to improve inventory turnover and manage costs effectively. Conduct routine inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Patient Care & Provider Collaboration Counsel patients on medication use, dosing, side effects, and interactions. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize treatment outcomes. Maintain strong relationships with client partners to ensure operational excellence and high satisfaction. Additional Duties Support mail-order pharmacy services as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Active pharmacist licensure and ability to obtain licensure in the following states: TX, MS, WA, NC, MD, and TN. Minimum 2+ years of pharmacy management experience, preferably in corporate or multisite environments. Proven experience in retail pharmacy. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mail-order pharmacy experience is a plus. Strong data entry skills and proficiency in clinical review. Work Environment Full-time schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Manages a small team including one pharmacy technician and two PRN pharmacists for coverage needs. Work is performed in a full-service pharmacy supporting employees and their dependents, with additional mail-order service capabilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Orleans, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
