Summary: Meta is looking for a dedicated Data Center Operations Engineer to join our dynamic Facility Operations team. Our data centers are the backbone of our software, ensuring we meet customer demands effectively. This role is essential in operating and maintaining critical systems within our data centers. Key Responsibilities: Conduct hands-on operations and maintenance tasks, including both physical and administrative duties, ensuring optimal uptime, efficiency, and safety without disrupting business activities. Timely and accurately complete work order requests using our enterprise asset management (EAM) system. Continuously enhance technical knowledge regarding data center infrastructure and operations, successfully completing personnel qualification standards (PQS) training. Provide technical expertise and assistance as needed. Respond swiftly to data center emergencies following established Meta procedures or emergency operating protocols. Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to detect any unsafe conditions or faults. Troubleshoot issues, evaluate system performance, and recommend upgrades. Procure necessary parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs. Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with Meta processes and standards. Promptly escalate issues to facility management as appropriate. Assist in the scheduling and supervision of vendors/subcontractors during maintenance and service operations. Continuously provide recommendations for improvements to the operations and maintenance program. Be flexible with a shift schedule that may include nights and holidays. Utilize computerized tools to monitor system alerts, operate remote equipment, and manage communications in a control room environment. Minimum Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or another relevant technical maintenance field. Associate's degree in engineering plus 4+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience will be considered. Ability to use hands and fingers effectively. Capability to reach, push, or pull using arms and hands. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed. Capacity to lift and move 45 pounds or more. Able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems commonly used in critical environments. Experience with EAM/CMMS systems. Ability to interpret blueprints and CAD drawings. Trade certification or state licensure in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC). 8+ years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment. Membership in professional organizations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, etc.) is a plus. In-depth knowledge of critical facilities operations.
