PRIMARY PURPOSE: To inspect, identify, and evaluate vehicles involved in a loss. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Appraise and determine repair costs for damaged vehicles on-site; evaluate whether to repair or replace and assess parts utilization. Evaluate vehicle repairability or salvageability using industry-standard estimating software. Travel to various inspection locations for on-site vehicle appraisals. Prepare repair estimates using specialized estimating software. Collaborate with auto repair facilities to evaluate supplemental repair needs and provide supplemental estimates. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Perform other duties as assigned. Travel up to 75% as needed. Welcome customers and explain the scanning, estimating, and repair process. Conduct initial inspections on vehicles, including documenting damage and assessing paint and prior damage. Manually inspect vehicles that do not qualify for scanning. Assist with vehicle scanning operations. Effectively communicate the repair process and program benefits to customers. During off-peak times, support local appraiser coverage, desk reviews, and quality assurance teams. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing A high school diploma or GED is required, along with necessary state licenses. Experience At least three years of relevant experience, including a minimum of one year in appraisal or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Skills & Knowledge In-depth knowledge of automobiles. Ability to navigate appraisal software effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Capacity to meet and exceed performance competencies. WORK ENVIRONMENT We prioritize reasonable accommodations when applicable and appropriate. Mental: Strong conceptual thinking, judgment, troubleshooting, and discretion; ability to manage work-related stress and handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Physical: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, kneel, squat, or bend; work outdoors in various weather conditions; lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 100 pounds; drive for up to 4 hours daily; and maintain manual dexterity. Auditory/Visual: Ability to hear, see, and communicate effectively. As required by law, Sedgwick offers a reasonable compensation range for roles, taking into account skill set, experience, and location. For this position, the starting pay range is $56,000-$72,000/year.
