As part of the DeFi Borrow team, you will enable millions of customers to access liquidity from their crypto assets via the Coinbase Consumer app. You will connect our robust centralized platform with leading onchain lending protocols, creating a simple, secure, and scalable borrowing experience. This includes advanced collateral management, real-time loan health monitoring, and seamless repayment options, positioning Coinbase as the premier destination for maximizing crypto investments and superior financial services. Key Responsibilities Lead the product area from conception and strategy to execution, launch, and ongoing enhancement of DeFi Borrow. Define and drive a multi-year roadmap for crypto-backed loans at Coinbase, including initial borrowing flows and sophisticated loan management for both web and mobile platforms. Establish clear objectives and key results (OKRs) across various workstreams, such as loan origination and management, fostering collaboration to achieve these goals. Collaborate closely with Engineering to deliver resilient and scalable borrowing experiences, focusing on core loan processes and ensuring a balance of speed and reliability. Work alongside Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure DeFi Borrow products meet all regulatory and risk requirements while enhancing the customer experience. Maintain operational excellence through thorough launch documentation and incident management strategies to ensure DeFi Borrow remains robust during market fluctuations. Advocate for a crypto-centric product approach by leveraging onchain data, protocols, and innovations to create unique borrowing experiences exclusive to the cryptoeconomy. What We Seek in You 5+ years of product management experience with a proven track record in launching impactful consumer or prosumer financial products. Experience developing or scaling complex financial or lending products (e.g., margin loans, credit structures, secured loans, DeFi borrowing) while balancing user experience, risk, and business objectives. Technical proficiency and familiarity with onchain concepts for effective collaboration with engineers working on smart contracts and loan workflows. Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement multi-quarter strategy, transforming narratives into actionable roadmaps and experiments that yield measurable results. Strong analytical skills and sound product judgment; adept at understanding metrics, user behavior, and market dynamics while keeping user experience in focus. A user-driven mindset, capable of distilling complex financial and onchain concepts into clear, trustworthy experiences that resonate with a broad consumer base. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DeFi lending protocols (e.g., Morpho, Aave, Compound) or onchain money markets, either as a developer or an advanced user. Background in credit, risk, or capital markets, especially with secured lending or collateralized products. Experience promoting onchain ecosystems by working collaboratively with developers or users to launch new markets, collateral types, or integrations. A crypto-forward perspective, including familiarity with onchain activities such as interacting with Ethereum addresses and using decentralized applications. Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,370 to $212,200 USD.
