Job Description: As an Engineering Specialist focused on Disaster Recovery, you will play a critical role in the recovery efforts following disasters. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting thorough site inspections to assess and document infrastructure damage, including taking photographs, creating accurate site sketches, and providing detailed damage descriptions. Developing and reviewing scopes of work and cost estimates that adhere to applicable codes and standards. Analyzing engineering reports, designs, and as-built plans to ensure compliance and accuracy. Making informed recommendations concerning claim eligibility and evaluating hazard mitigation proposals. Collaborating with applicants to prioritize projects, facilitating meetings during the recovery process, and effectively communicating final determinations. Providing analytical updates and participating in status meetings with agency representatives. Identifying the need for additional technical specialists as required. Completing inspections to aid in the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process. Assuming other duties as needed to support the mission. Location: The position requires travel across the United States. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 5 years of relevant in-field experience or 2 years of specific expertise along with professional registration. Willingness to travel as needed for inspections and project oversight.
