About the job Director of Labor and Delivery, Womens Services Director of Labor and Delivery, Womens Services Work Location: Hickory, NC (Easy drive from Charlotte ~1 hour) Hospital-Based | Senior Leadership | Full-Time Onsite Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer Salary: $101,171 $136,593 + $10K Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Package About the Role We are actively seeking an experienced Director of Labor and Delivery / Womens Services for a full-time onsite leadership role in Hickory, North Carolina an easy commute from the Charlotte metro area. This opportunity is ideal for nursing leaders in Charlotte seeking career advancement in a high-impact hospital leadership role without the congestion and cost of a major city. The Director will oversee Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU units at a 355-bed regional medical center. Youll serve as a key clinical and operational leader, accountable for care quality, staffing, patient experience, budget oversight, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Provide 24/7 oversight of Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and NICU Manage staffing, training, scheduling, and development of nursing staff Implement and improve protocols for patient safety, quality, and satisfaction Lead strategic initiatives and set departmental performance goals Monitor and manage budgets, audits, and regulatory compliance Serve as liaison with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams May provide direct care if needed Qualifications Must-Have Current NC RN license Bachelors degree (BSN preferred) BLS certification Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification Minimum 5 years RN experience Nice-to-Have Masters degree (Healthcare Admin, Nursing, etc.) 2+ years management/leadership experience in womens health Knowledge of NICU, OB/GYN services, and clinical compliance standards Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills Compensation & Perks $10,000 Sign-On Bonus (paid over 2 years) $5,000 Relocation Package Generous PTO Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA 401(k) with matching Life & Disability + Employee Assistance Programs Travel & Entertainment Perks About the Facility This position is located at a 355-bed acute care hospital with an additional 81-bed behavioral health facility in Hickory, NC, one of the most livable small cities in the Southeast.
