Position Overview: This remote role entails travel within the region, approximately 2 - 3 times a week, with occasional overnight stays. As a Cyber Risk Advisor, you will conduct critical evaluations of systems, infrastructure, software, and data for public sector clients, providing essential risk management support. Key Responsibilities: Perform thorough assessments of hardware, mobile devices, operating systems, encryption, software, and applications for our members. Evaluate information control measures including websites, networks, records, firewalls, and disaster recovery plans for our clients. Assess policies related to information privacy, security, and inventory control, recommending enhancements as needed. Conduct comprehensive system evaluations, analyzing security control measures, and developing strategies to mitigate risks and reduce costs. Advise underwriting, marketing, and claims departments based on evaluation results and emerging trends. Deliver engaging on-site training sessions focused on IT security tailored for individuals or groups. Stay updated on cutting-edge technology and systems relevant to the public sector. Provide invaluable technical support to Risk Control and Underwriting teams, sharing insights on resources and compliance regulations to bolster risk management efforts. Collaborate with team members to create IT risk control policies and contribute to informative articles and newsletters. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other assignments as needed. Travel as required for client engagements. Qualifications: Education & Certification: A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Advanced IT education and certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM are highly regarded. Experience: A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including at least two years in systems auditing or consulting, along with practical IT risk management experience. Required Skills: Strong understanding of current technologies and trends used by public sector entities. Familiarity with IT compliance regulations and standards. Knowledge of phishing campaign platforms. Proven ability to gather inventory data virtually. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Able to produce comprehensive and precise written reports. Capable of thriving in a collaborative team environment and achieving performance goals.
