Senior Automation / Controls Engineer

Apollo Technical is seeking a Senior Automation / Controls Engineer to support large-scale industrial automation initiatives within the energy infrastructure sector. This individual will lead full-cycle automation projects, from concept development and system design through commissioning and client support. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project leadership responsibilities, including client interaction, proposal development, system optimization, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate brings strong control systems knowledge along with experience managing technical projects in a client-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement industrial automation and control systems for complex projects Oversee project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and technical execution Develop cost estimates, technical proposals, and project documentation Interface directly with clients to ensure project alignment and satisfaction Deliver technical training to internal teams and end users Troubleshoot and improve existing automation platforms and control systems Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and industry regulations Provide leadership and guidance to engineering staff Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related technical discipline 10+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering Demonstrated experience leading automation projects from proposal stage through completion Strong background in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, control architecture, and industrial networking Experience in client-facing or technical services environments Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering or related field Professional Engineering (PE) license or industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CAP) Exposure to advanced automation technologies such as robotics, vision systems, or IoT-based solutions Project management certification (PMP) or similar experience If interested apply online or email resumes to Apply
