Role Snapshot The Strategic Communications Specialist plays a vital role in devising, creating, and enhancing impactful content that aligns with and propels our organizational objectives. This position is responsible for formulating and executing communication strategies that boost engagement, strengthen brand reputation, and support employees through ongoing shifts within the organization. Collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams will be crucial to ensuring messaging consistency across various communication channels. Salary Range $100,000 - $115,000 The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside of this range. Work Location This position supports remote work in the following approved states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin. Is This the Opportunity for You? Lead communication strategies for complex organizational changes. Define audience strategies, narrative structures, objectives, and success metrics across channels. Act as the communications lead and advisor to initiative sponsors and project leaders regarding content best practices. Establish the approach, scope, and timelines for communication plans. Create and edit content for regular employee communications, including emails, newsletters, intranet articles, leader toolkits, and FAQs. Collaborate with the Content Manager to maintain messaging consistency, tone, and voice across internal communications. Integrate internal and external communication touchpoints for assigned initiatives, strengthening a unified source of information. Manage media relations for designated topics: set strategy, draft press releases, pitch stories, and coordinate responses to media inquiries. Develop content for external platforms and oversee contributions from others to ensure alignment with branding, strategy, and company values. Contribute to content standards, guidelines, and processes, supporting efforts to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. 7 or more years in corporate communications, public relations, or a related area, with at least 3 years in a senior role. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of creating clear, concise, and impactful messages for diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement communication plans for large organizational change initiatives. Proven experience managing media relations, including drafting press releases and responding to journalist inquiries. Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for aligning communications to business goals. Capability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. Ability to influence at all levels and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
