Pharmacy Technician II - Retail - Part Time

Company: Allegheny Health Network Job Description: GENERAL OVERVIEW: Take advantage of a $2,500 sign-on bonus for a 1-year commitment! Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician II and provide essential support in our pharmacy, working closely with registered pharmacists to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficiently process medication orders, including computer order entry and medication preparation, and prepare items for pharmacist final check. (25%) Maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies per established policies, including regular inspections and using pharmacy computer systems. (25%) Deliver excellent customer service by handling patient prescriptions, documenting required information, and ensuring a courteous interaction while following policy/procedure to release medications. (25%) If you're an Outpatient Technician: Validate Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance coverage and manage cash handling, deposit preparation, and accounting reports efficiently. (25%) If you're an Inpatient Technician: Compounding, stocking, repackaging, and preparing routine patient orders for IV pharmaceuticals, including antibiotics, solutions, irrigations, narcotics, parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapy. (25%) Safely operate equipment assigned, including but not limited to: forklifts, order pickers, and other material handling equipment for Central Fill Pharmacy. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: High school diploma/GED. Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician from National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience in lieu of formal training program. Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee through the PA State Board of Pharmacy upon hire and before start date. Current incumbents as of December 14, 2025 have until June 30, 2026 to register.
