Your Role on the Team: Job duties include, but are not limited to: Review and resolve billing edit errors prior to claim submission to ensure clean, accurate claims and timely reimbursement. Collect on insurance accounts by working assigned accounts receivable worklists, aging reports, and correspondence. Analyze patient accounts to determine appropriate billing or collection actions in compliance with payer guidelines. Communicate with payors and internal stakeholders to resolve billing and collection issues efficiently. What It Takes to be Successful: Required: Experience with professional fee medical billing, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers' Compensation, and commercial insurance plans. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English. Ability to analyze accounts, manage workload effectively, and meet monthly productivity standards. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships across a healthcare system. Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English. Preferred: Experience with patient registration and authorization processes. Proficiency using payor websites for claim status review and collections follow-up. Experience with Epic Billing or similar medical billing systems. Background in professional fee medical collections within a healthcare or academic medical setting. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles. The majority of our temporary positions are Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
