Overview of Application Development & Maintenance at Cardinal Health At Cardinal Health, our Information Technology team is dedicated to the effective development, delivery, and support of innovative computing and information services. This function plays a critical role in anticipating, planning, and providing IT solutions that drive operational efficiency and business value. Our Application Development & Maintenance team focuses on programming and configuring end user applications, systems, databases, and websites to meet internal and external business needs. We work closely with business leaders to identify user needs and conduct regular assessments and enhancements of existing applications. We invite you to explore the opportunity for the Senior SAP Project Engineer position, which is available remotely or at our Columbus, Ohio location. About the Department The Senior SAP Project Engineer role is part of our SAP Center of Excellence (CoE). Our CoE is focused on delivering business and application expertise to support Cardinal Health's SAP platforms by designing optimized processes, managing complex projects, and ensuring user support and training, all while maintaining the stability of our SAP system landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead SAP Project deliverables such as Functional Specifications, Configurations, Data conversions, and Cutover planning. Oversee the functional design, configuration, and validation of SAP solutions for the OTC/PTP/SCE Business Processes. Analyze and document current processes and systems, identify gaps, and define future state processes. Facilitate blueprint workshops and work with business teams to gather requirements and conduct Fit Gap Analysis. Architect and implement SAP business applications in the OTC, RTR, PTP & RNI Business process areas. Assess solution options and their business and technology impacts, and provide delivery estimates. Ensure compliance with and promote the use of Solution Manager, Charm Management, JIRA, and other standard tools. Identify gaps between requirements and current solutions, proposing estimates and options for closing these gaps. Communicate effectively with IT partners and business stakeholders. Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to manage software delivery execution. Provide functional expertise, presentations, and instruction to stakeholders. Maintain an enterprise perspective and communicate the broader implications of project decisions. Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Support SAP-related systems analysis and design to optimize Procure to Pay Processes. Work with modules including LE, SD, & FI and associated project implementations. Qualifications Proven experience with multiple full lifecycle SAP implementation projects. Advanced knowledge of SAP S4 functionalities, particularly in 2 or more of the following modules: SD, LE, MM, FI, and Pricing. Ability to translate technical and functional specifications into test scenarios and scripts. Proficient in performing configuration, debugging, and enhancement design for solutions. Strong understanding of SAP best practices and business processes across multiple SAP modules. S4 HANA certification is preferred. Robust integration skills with SAP modules and external ERP systems. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including Agile and Waterfall. Expectations for This Role Utilize advanced knowledge to manage a variety of complex projects. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals. Propose new practices and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Lead projects of large scope with potential long-term impact. Deliver innovative solutions that may set new standards within the organization. Independently determine methods for project completion while being guided by overall objectives. Act as a mentor to junior colleagues.
