Position Overview As a Mid-Level Actuarial Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping pricing strategies for commercial insurance lines, develop sophisticated loss-premium forecasts, and apply actuarial standards to provide insights that guide our business strategies. Your expertise will include working with ISO data, mentoring junior analysts, and strengthening the organization's overall financial stability. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement innovative pricing models for commercial insurance lines. Lead the creation of in-depth loss-premium forecasts to support key business decisions. Conduct analyses based on fundamental actuarial principles and prepare comprehensive actuarial reports. Present your actuarial findings to various stakeholders, including Home Office, Field management, and regulators. Improve and optimize methodologies for conducting and documenting actuarial analyses effectively. Guide junior actuarial analysts, sharing knowledge on spreadsheets, databases, and diverse data sources. Prepare for and advance through CAS examinations through practical experience and dedicated study. Qualifications: ACAS designation or nearing completion. Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with robust mathematical foundations. Proven understanding and application of advanced actuarial principles. Minimum of 6 years experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic to intermediate skills in SQL. Preferences: ACAS designation with goals of achieving FCAS. Experience in pricing commercial lines, such as commercial auto insurance. Familiarity with ISO products, data, and methodologies. Ability to utilize R and Python for advanced actuarial analyses. The base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $155,000, adjusted based on experience and location.
