You'll have the unique opportunity to work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the nation. Role Overview As a Lead Safety Specialist, you will spearhead the implementation of our comprehensive field safety program across routine and complex construction projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, documenting abatement strategies, and analyzing trends to bolster our safety initiatives—all aligned with JE Dunn's mission and values. Core Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate the safety program for construction projects, ensuring all operations comply with company standards and legal regulations. Carry out regular inspections of job sites to uphold safety compliance. Perform audits to identify hazards, effectively documenting and advising on solutions for both internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate project-specific orientation for new hires and enforce compliance with drug and alcohol policies. Monitor safety programs implemented by contractors and subcontractors. Participate actively in project meetings, providing insights and discussions on safety-related topics. Assist in investigating accidents on site, collaborating to identify root causes and suggest proactive measures. Coordinate with injured employees and healthcare providers to ensure timely treatment and return to work. Track and promote safety incentive programs. Additional Responsibilities You will also engage in: Leveraging advanced safety knowledge to identify and address complex safety issues, providing effective solutions. Utilizing internal systems for trend analysis to identify problem areas and enhance safety measures. Offering guidance and training on safety topics for team members. Support safety leadership during insurance audits. Manage more complex projects, including overseeing multiple sites or significant projects. Develop strategic training initiatives to fulfill training objectives. Assess training needs, craft new programs, and implement technologies to optimize learning experiences. Monitor safety metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement. Deliver both in-person and online training sessions, maintaining accurate records of all training activities. Qualifications Ability to execute responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office. In-depth knowledge of and ability to enforce federal, state, local, and company-specific safety regulations. Expertise in company safety software and tools. Strong ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective actions. Proficiency in working collaboratively with various stakeholders. Familiarity with environmental testing protocols. Intermediate proficiency in relevant construction technologies. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a safety or health-related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. 5+ years of construction safety experience required.
